Consultations – $45/Hr
- A good first step if you’re working on a book, or just starting to outline! We can discuss your goals for the project, outlining strategies, concerns about writing or editing, questions about the editing process, or general questions.
- Reading fees for outlines or partial/complete drafts are also charges at $45/hr.
Editorial Assessment – $45/hr
- Not quite sure where to start? Want a professional opinion? Begin with an editorial assessment. You’ll receive an extensive, in-depth analysis of your manuscript’s strengths and weaknesses, and a plan for revision and rewrites. Includes an optional Skype or phone call to discuss the results of the assessment and to formulate a plan for rewriting.
Developmental/Content editing – 2–3 cents/word
For those with in-progress or recently drafted manuscripts
- In-depth editing, structuring, and suggestions for rewriting
- Extensive commentary on content, suggestions on crafting scenes, chapters, and paragraphs
- Includes an optional Zoom or phone call to discuss the edits and plan next steps.
Line editing – 1.5–2.5 cents/word
For those with recently drafted manuscripts.
- Line-by-line editing for mechanical and content errors, individual sentence structure, characterization, and narrative voice
- Continuity checks
- Grammar/syntax
Copy editing – 1–1.5 cents/word
For those in the process of redrafting.
